One of the topics of conversations in planning an engagement shoot is the timing of the shoot. I always suggest the first 2 hours of the day or the last 2 hours of the day. 9.9 out of 10 times, folks choose the last 2 hours. Rightfully so, usually they get up every morning early for work, doing hair & makeup before the sunrise is a chore & getting up early is just a bit undesirable anyway. But when we get up early there is a reward, and that reward is time. Time to see something new, time to get things done, time that you can never get back and time spent sleeping is a waste. So, when Christina & Tony opted to do the first 2 hours of the day I almost did a backflip. I love getting up early and as photographers we talk about “light” a lot. Well, the morning light produces this state optimism about the new day that just can’t be replicated. We met early at the beach, which was empty, wandered around and did what we do. Enjoy!!
