I’ve made many long, lonely drives to and from weddings, but Saturday I had some company for a change. A good friend of mine came and videoed Rosalie & Colin’s wedding. He’s new to working at a wedding and we talked a lot on way up about the challenges and strategies of this world and one of the questions that he asked and one that I get a lot is, “Where is your favorite place to shoot”. My standby answer is “I couldn’t care less”. That one usually turns a head because I have shot some pretty amazing places, but what I mean by that is that the walls of the building don’t matter to me. What matters to me is the energy that the people that fill those walls bring to the table and Ro & Colin brought a lot of it. It’s exactly what you’d want, no worries about running behind, no worries about shooting most of the portraits indoors because it’s freezing out, no worries about anything but having a good time and a good buzz. This is the last wedding of the year and I think that a post debriefing 2017 is coming, but just know that this was a perfect microcosm of what my year has been. Thanks for having us, Ro & Colin.
