There’s a lot I want to say here. Some of it is fairly sappy, I don’t know, I’ll save that part. It’s trite to say how much a couple loves each other and how great they are together, how their story is uplifting and inspiring, and how happy they are together. It’s like those trite platitudes that we all know are true, but no one wants to hear. Sometimes this business is like that. There’s invoices and taxes and editing and marketing and all of the things I don’t have much interest in. It is work. But showing up that Saturday morning and immediately feeling that energy in the air as the girls reminisced over old stories and that vibe of anticipation reverberated as the boys wandered around aimlessly just trying to pass the seconds — Is a gift. It no longer becomes work. That gift invariable serves as a reminder to be thankful forever and always. I hope these bring Sam & Brock as much joy as they brought me and I hope that when they look at these photos down the road 1 week, 1 year, 10 years, 50 years from now, they feel the spirit these were made with, the spirit of thankfulness. Thankful for whatever challenge they are enduring together, thankful for the work that is marriage, thankful for each other.
